Layered Pumpkin Coffee Cake

Is there anything better than pumpkin during this time of year? I have to admit I am definitely one of those people that order pumpkin coffee at its early release in late August...give me all the pumpkin things 24/7 :)

It's no surprise I love baking. This past weekend I tried a new recipe that has the best of both worlds: coffee cake & pie! One other thing I should admit is that I am not a pie fan. Cake > pie. I do however love the flavor of pumpkin pie which is why this recipe is a keeper. Pumpkin pie filling in the middle of moist (sorry to those of you that hate that word) coffee cake with a streusel crumb topping..OH MY!

I saved this recipe when I saw it on Facebook a while back. I think I'll start doing baking posts based on where I see the recipe! I love a few YouTube channels that are recipe based, Food Network (duh), and BuzzFeed/Tasty. This recipe however is from Barefeet in the Kitchen.

Here are the list of ingredients based on the layers:

Coffee Cake Layer
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup sour cream

Pumpkin Pie Filling
- 1 15 ounce can pumpkin
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup half and half or 1/4 cup heavy cream plus 1/4 cup milk (this is what I did)

Streusel Topping
- 1/3 cup butter melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped pecans (although I used walnuts because that's what I had on hand)

Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease a 9 x 13 pan
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla and keep beating
- Add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Stir in sour cream and then pour half the batter in the greased pan
- Stir in a medium bowl the pumpkin, sugar and spices. Add eggs and the half and half or cream to the mixture and combine all together. Pour the pumpkin mix over the batter in the pan and spread.
- Drop the rest of the coffee cake batter in small spoonfuls and smooth across the pumpkin layer
- Mix all the ingredients for the streusel topping and sprinkle over the top of the cake
- Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick insert comes out clean

(Check out that sweet pumpkin pie layer!)

And there you have it! Let me know if you make this! :) Benson, Evan and I were all huge fans of this recipe so I will for sure be making it again....probably sooner rather than later ;)

Back At It

Happy Fall/Happy October/Happy almost 2019 basically...I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that it's been so long since I've posted on my blog😖The last post I published was January 25th and it was in regards to things no one tells you about birth....GUYS! I will say that I have a drafted post talking about life updates and what not from over the summer but even that was when Evan was 7 months old. Now he 10 months old and far more grown up than that post back in January when he was an itty bitty new born - seriously where does time even go anymore!?

I'm here to say that I've missed this and that I want to get back into the swing of things. Whether you enjoy reading about my day to day, Evan updates (and let's be honest..there will be lot's of this because like every other parent I am obsessed with my child and think he is the cutest thing in the world), baking which I have been doing a TON of, or just random thoughts I hope to start getting regular posts up again!

So to conclude this very short and updating post here's a recap of everything that's happened since January:

-We bought a house
-Evan is now 10 months old and the happiest little boy. He's taking steps and has such a fun personality already!

Told you it would be a very short recap! Also here is a picture of Evan from this past weekend. Those big brown eyes just make my heart melt💗

8 Things No One Tells You After You Give Birth

And we're back!

Now I'm definitely no expert on motherhood but I wanted to write a post on things that I wish I knew after you give birth. Hopefully these points give insight on things that might not be commonly known after having a baby. Enjoy!

1.) Postpartum Preeclampsia - When you're pregnant you're always being checked for preclampsia but I never knew that you can develop it after you give birth as well even if you never developed it while pregnant. I'm a hypochondiac so when I was told in the hospital to watch out for symptoms of it, I instantly panicked. Also, it can take up to 6 weeks to develop! I did have a "scare" where a week after being home I had a headache all day (and I never get headaches), had high blood pressure and had passed a large clot. I called my doctor and luckily she didn't seem worried and told me to call back or seek medical treatment if I developed other serious symptoms. It's a scary thing but it's better to be safe than sorry and I'm glad I called my doctor to check and see if these "symptoms" I had were of concern. It's important to also be sure to take care of yourself too!

2.) Breastfeeding is HARD - like really hard and will take time to get it down.
Everyone tells you breastfeeding can be difficult but the extent of how hard it actually is was surprising. You sort of think that it's a natural thing so it can't be too difficult but boy oh boy was I wrong. I'm thankful that Evan and I developed a routine and got it down but it took a few painful and stressful weeks to get to that point. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for whatever moms choose for their baby whether it's breast milk, formula or a combo of both. Breastfeeding was my first choice so I'm happy that I am able to do so. Also, the saying "there's no use crying over spilled milk" is bullshit. Once you've pumped and managed to get a small amount of milk in your first days of painful breastfeeding only to have it spill is heartbreaking. Yes, I did cry when this happened - no shame!

3.) You bleed - for weeks.
Hopefully anyone who's reading this knew what they were getting themselves into. Yes I knew I would bleed after having a baby - I mean your body did just produce and deliver a human being after all so there has to be some side effects to it! Stock up on plenty of pads. Also steal a few extra pairs of the hospital underwear, trust me.

4.) You clot
Along with bleeding you also pass blood clots. They say anything bigger than a golf ball or if you bleed through pads every hour for at least 3 hours needs to be told to a doctor.

5.) You're starving and thirsty - alllllllllll the time
At least for me I was (and still am) always hungry and thirsty. When you're breastfeeding you get super thirsty. While we were in the hospital and I would feed Evan this intense thirst overcame me as soon as he latched that Benson would need to get me water ASAP. It was so weird that as soon as he started sucking I felt like I was in a desert and my mouth became so dry that it felt like I hadn't had water in days. I now always keep a snack and water next to our bed for when I breastfeed Evan in the middle of the night.

6.) Ice diapers are a thing and they're your best friend
In the few days after giving birth the hospital gave me ice diapers. Yes, baby diapers. These things are genius and helped SO much. They take newborn diapers and soak them, then ring them out and freeze them for new moms to use. Next baby we have (don't worry - not for a couple years at least!) I'm definitely prepping and stocking our freezer with these bad boys for when I get home to use. It was such a relief to help and soothe the area that just over went a traumatic event!

7.) While tending to the needs of your newborn, you're also supposed to relax
Ummm what? How the heck do new moms relax when they're trying to feed, change, take care of a newborn all while having to take care of herself and other day to day things? It's true though. After giving birth you're not even supposed to carry your baby in the car seat because of the weight. If you do too much too soon you'll only prolong the bleeding and only make it worse on your body.

8.) No toilet paper allowed
Squirt bottles become your partner in crime in the week after giving birth. I'll spare the details on this one but I'm assuming you get the point that you'll be using a squirt bottle to clean yourself after going to the bathroom.

And there you have it! 8 things I had no idea that happen after giving birth. I'm sure I'm missing some but these are the main points that stuck out for me and hopefully help someone in the future!

Evan's Birth Story

Hi everyone and happy 2018! It has been a while since my last post so there is a lot of catching up to do. First things first, Evan was born! I wanted to write a post about my labor and delivery. Be forewarned this is a long one but I wanted to have this memory to look back and read about and even show Evan one day.

Here it goes...

Evan's due date was Saturday, December 2nd. That day came and went and so did Sunday. I was so sure I was going to have Evan before his due date with the way I was feeling towards the tail end of pregnancy. I was wrong!

On Monday morning I had an appointment with my OB around 9:30. It started with a stress test which involved me relaxing in a recliner hooked up to a machine with a band around my stomach to monitor Evan's movement. He seemed to be a little tired that morning because even after having some apple juice he wasn't too active. They then brought me in for an ultrasound and while everything looked great he still wasn't moving too much. The doctor came in and said while she usually waits until 41 weeks, I was already overdue and if I was ready to have this baby she was willing to send me to the hospital. Of course I immediately said yes!

We were able to stop home to eat and pack any last minute items in my hospital bag. We were out the door and to the hospital and admitted by 11:30am. Once I was settled in my room the nurses and doctors came in to do routine checks and what not. I was still only 1cm dilated at this point so I was given a pill at 2pm to help soften the cervix. I forget what the pill was called exactly but you can be given up to 4 doses and taken every 4 hours. After taking the first dose there really wasn't much to do but hang out and watch tv. At 6:00 I was given another dose and yet again there wasn't much to do in between but watch tv. While I was taking these pills I was having contractions but they were virtually painless. The only way I knew was because of the monitor I was hooked up to that I could see the patterns.

Later that night when it would have been time for my third dose of this pill, I was not able to be given it due to the frequency of my contractions but again - I did not feel these. Since I was unable to be given a third dose and I was STILL only 1cm dilated (ugh - frustrating!) I was given a morphine shot (that hurt like a bi*#@) in the side of my bum to help me sleep. This all happened around 10-11pm Monday night. They would then re-evaluate me in the morning or so I thought. Of course being in the hospital even with the morphine it wasn't the most comfortable nights sleep.

Come around 2am they did an exam just to check progress. When they did the exam, Evan's heart rate dropped which was scary. They gave me oxygen to bring his heart rate back up and discuss what direction to go from there. Being a centimeter dilated still they were trying to figure out the best plan of action to take. Clearly, my body was not ready for pitocin yet which they said if I were given it, it may not work and if that happens then they would need to administer more fluids to flush it out and then start again - basically that meant labor could be very long. The other option was they would insert a balloon which is a natural way to dilate but in order to place it, it is an invasive process like the cervical exam which Evan did not respond to well.

I decided to wait about 45 minutes as the doctor recommended and chose the balloon process. Thank goodness waiting that window of time brought Evan's heart rate back to normal and the balloon insertion went off without a hitch. I was then able to sleep for a few hours.

On Tuesday, December 5th I woke up around 7am and went to use the bathroom. I'll spare you the details but the balloon process worked and I was then measured at 4cm! Yay, good news!! The doctors then said I would be ready to start pitocin which is the medicine used to jump start labor. After eating the biggest breakfast ever I was put on pitocin. While on pitocin you are unable to eat but I am able to drink and have clear liquids which I was thankful for.

My water broke that afternoon and up until about 3pm I was in and out of napping to rest up since I was going to be having a baby later! My contractions didn't start getting bad until then which felt like veeeeery strong menstrual cramps. I asked for the epidural shortly after that. I was terrified to get it to say the least. You hear horror stories of how painful it is but I will say that in the moment of pain you just want relief. The actual administering of the epidural wasn't as bad as I expected to be honest. I felt like the morphine shot was actually more painful. I was worried about having to sit so still but Benson was a great coach.

The body is very weird. Once I got the epidural I thought it would be instant relief which is was BUT only on my right side! I could still feel contractions on my left side while my right side was numb. I told the nurse and they said that the epidural works with gravity. They had me lie on my left side to have the right side of the medicine trickle down to hopefully numb that side too. If that wasn't to work then they would have to re-place the needle...no thank you! I was so happy that after lying on my left side for about 10 minutes it actually worked and I could no longer feel any contractions, only pressure.

After getting the epidural it was just a waiting game. I was drinking diet ginger ale and eating lemon ice to get some sort of nourishment while watching food network....not the best idea when you can't eat! As time went on my contractions were getting stronger and more frequent. The pressure was starting to get unbearable. The nurses said once I feel like I need to use the bathroom that was my body telling me it was time to push. The pressure was so intense it felt like you need to take the biggest bowel movement of your life! (Sorry if that's TMI but hey, it's true!).

Come 8pm it was go time! I was ready to push and beyond ready to meet Evan! Pushing is so physically and mentally exhausting. I was so thankful that Benson was an amazing coach and the staff were really great as well. The time I started pushing there were about 3 other rooms that started pushing as well so staff was constantly switching between all the rooms. When I pushed it was just Benson and a nurse assisting me. After an hour of pushing I instantly became nauseous and asked for a bucket. I then started to throw up violently in between pushing - NOT FUN! I asked the nurse if this was normal because the feeling came over me so suddenly. She said 90% of women either throw up or poop during labor and I was one who threw up! Thank goodness I just had ginger ale and lemon ice in my stomach.

After getting sick I kept pushing and the nurse said I was almost done. A bunch of nurses and doctors came in the room to help me and deliver Evan! When I thought I could no longer push because of the pain and exhausting, the nurse had taken my hand and brought it down so I could FEEL HIS HEAD! It was a way of letting me know to push through (literally) and that I was almost done. I just had to get though the "ring of fire" which you can probably guess by the name is EXTREMELY painful. A few more painful pushes and Evan was born at 10:07pm weighing 8 pounds exactly and measuring at 19.5 inches long.

I heard Evan and of course I assumed that all was good since he was making noise. Noise is better than no noise right? Once they had him out they knew something was off and unfortunately Benson was unable to cut his umbilical cord because they had to assess him. He was making grunting noises which they said was due to pneumothorax (medical term that in the moment after giving birth I had no clue and was scared out of my mind). Basically Evan had an air bubble in his chest that was making it hard for him to breathe fully. After they quickly cleaned him up they showed him to me for about 30 seconds and then took him away for a chest x-ray. We didn't get a chance to see Evan until about 2 hours later.

In the time that we had to wait to see Evan, they cleaned and stitched me up. Benson and I were nervous because we didn't know what the extent of his condition was. He was admitted to the special care unit and we were able to see him around midnight. Thank goodness his chest x-ray came back cleared but he needed to stay in special care to make sure he didn't develop pneumonia. Benson and I were sad our little boy couldn't stay in our room with us but it was nice knowing he was being closely monitored by such caring staff.

On Thursday we were finally able to have Evan stay in our room with us. Leading up until then we had to venture to the special care unit to feed and visit him. Things were looking great with him and on Friday we were finally able to be discharged! We were so ready to get home after being in the hospital since Monday. We were so excited to bring Evan home!

Since then it has been the adventure of a lifetime and it's only getting better. It's crazy how much love you feel after bringing this little human into the world. It's love you've never felt before and we are totally wrapped around his little finger. Evan is growing everyday and it's amazing to watch him grow. He smiles when we talk to him, loves to cuddle and is loved by all. I can't wait to see his personality develop even more!

As I stated earlier, this post is a long one but I'm glad I wrote it for us to reflect back on. Pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting is a whirlwind but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for reading!

Catch Up....Aaaaand I'm Pregnant

Hello hello hellooooo! It has truly been a while since I've posted and I never intended to go this long without blogging. It's something I started last year and always looked forward to. But as life does, things got busy and I found myself slacking in this area. Well, now I'm back and figured I'd recap with a life update since it has been quite some time.

Since my last post (I don't even want to look back at the date because I know it's been too long!) I have received a promotion! I'm so excited to be in position I worked so hard for. As if that wasn't exciting news enough, shortly after Benson and I received some other very exciting news ......I'M PREGNANT! :) I honestly still don't believe the words yet when I tell people, or feel the kicks in my belly, or get nauseous every time I'm around red meat or tacos. It's so surreal and so exciting at the same time. Time is already flying by and before we know it our baby boy (Evan James to be exact!) will be here in no time!

Let me fill you in on the back story of finding out we're expecting a baby...

I found out I was pregnant VERY early (thanks Clearblue!). I bought a pack of tests and it was a Friday morning in the end of March that I woke up and figured I'd take one (expecting it to be negative). As I did what I had to do for the test I then washed my face while waiting for the test to read me my result. A couple minutes later my life had changed - PREGNANT! My mouth dropped and I'm sure it's no surprise that I was mentally freaking out and speechless all while Benson was still asleep. I then thought to myself if I should tell him right then and there or wait until after work so we could have the whole weekend to process this great news. Of course being as impatient as I am there was no way I could last a whole day at work without telling him. I grabbed the test, and then went into the kitchen where I still have wine bottles from our "Basket of First's" and pulled out the "First Baby" sparkling apple cider bottle (thanks Camille!). I went into the bedroom and woke Benson up with the bottle right in his face. His first reaction was "What did I miss!" Thinking that it was a birthday or anniversary he forgot about. Once he was able to open his eyes and actually read what the bottle said I then showed him the test. His face was priceless and I'm pretty sure mine looked the same way when I read the results of the test to myself. It was such a joyous moment and also scary as shit. I mean....we're really having a baby!! Needless to say that day at work I don't think I got nearly as much done as I usually do. Benson and I were emailing each other all day still in shock and thinking of the road ahead trying to sort everything out and plan.

The next week we were planning on telling our families. It was perfect timing because we were heading to Baltimore to see my dad's bell ringing ceremony for completing his proton therapy for prostate cancer. It was so hard to see everyone that weekend and wait until Saturday night when we got home to then tell them! We presented a onesie in a gift bag to my parents saying that it was  a welcome home present for the both of them. We did the same thing with Benson's parents the following day and the reactions everyone had to our good news was incredible.

We announced our news publicly towards the end of May and had a gender reveal party in the beginning of July. I have to be honest, when we popped the balloon I was totally expecting pink confetti because I just had a feeling it was going to be a girl. I was completely surprised but so excited to know that we are going to have a little boy! My due date is December 2nd and while that still now may seem as though we have plenty of time to prepare, I know it's going to be here in the blink of an eye.

*Knocks on wood* So far my pregnancy has been great. I really didn't have too many symptoms aside from being tired....but let's be honest, that was me even before I was pregnant! I had absolutely no morning sickness either. I crave sweets like crazy and would much rather eat snacks or breakfast food than an actual meal, tacos make me want to vomit and so does red meat. My appetite changes at the drop of a hat. I could be at Wegmans and pick something up that I want in that moment but by the time I get home I'd rather eat cereal for dinner....pregnancy is VERY strange! The exciting part is that I can now feel baby Evan's kicks and punches. Talk about a weird sensation! But it is so cool and fascinating. I am also very thankful that so far I have had healthy and smooth pregnancy. Benson hasn't had to endure too much of any requests except a few ice cream runs now and then ;)

Tomorrow I am officially 22 weeks and I feel as though I'm already behind on things! I know everyone says that time flies by when you have kids and the fact that our first isn't even born yet but I'm already more than halfway through my pregnancy blows my mind. I suppose we should start our baby registry now!

And there you have it! A little life catch up since my last post with big news! I definitely want to get back into blogging because I love documenting these kinds of things as well as sharing things that interest me such as recipes, tips, reviews and so on. I remember I was nervous at first to start a blog because I didn't know if people would think I was silly for doing it but it's what I like and I want to stick with it. Not to mention I actually received some awesome feedback from my posts and it made me so happy to know that people were taking an interest! I don't expect to be a full-time blogger but I enjoy doing it and here's to keep on typing on! Thanks for reading!

Super Jam Packed Weekend!

Welcome Back!

It's been a while since I've done a little recap of my weekend..I think since summer!? I figured this was a good weekend to recap since it was jam packed and a fun and eventful one.

My cousin Kelsey came up for the weekend to visit from Penn State. She'll also be back up next month for her spring break aaaaaaand.....21ST BIRTHDAY! I can't wait to celebrate with her for that. The fact that she's almost 21 blows my mind...really where does the time go!?

Let's jump into the recap...

Friday night:

I started the night continuing to watch Shameless on Netflix (thanks, Alecia) and drank wine...duh. Kelsey came over a little later and we played with the VR. I was able to catch a few videos of Kelsey in another world. She punched our chandelier she was so into the game!

After playing some VR, we played Fibbage and then Just Dance. Preeetty sure we haven't played Just Dance in a couple years. I forgot that after each song there is a video recap of us. How on earth Benson always scored higher than me, I'll never know. It's safe to say however that Kelsey was the Just Dance queen.

Saturday:

I woke up and went to the gym and then came home to shower and get ready. We had plans to go to Lovin Cup for lunch with Chelsea and Kelsey. I'll be the first to admit that once I find something I love at a restaurant, it's almost impossible for me to get something different. I stuck with my usual "Hot For Teacher" panini and it did not disappoint.

After lunch we stopped by Barnes and Noble quick so I could buy Chrissy Teigen's cookbook Cravings. I am SO excited about this cookbook! There are a ton of delicious recipes that I'm having trouble deciding what to make first. If anyone has any recommendations, send them my way!

Later in the day we all went to my grandma and grandpa's for dinner with my mom, aunt and uncle, and Kelsey (Benson too of course! He's just automatically included in everything). If there's one thing you should know about my family, it's that there is never a dull moment with us. I'm a very family oriented person so I always enjoy dinner with them. We even called my dad after dinner so he could talk to all of us. Miss you dad!

The night ended with us playing the game "Basket Head" - which is as simple as it sounds. You wear a basket on your head and everyone else throw ping pong balls at you to make it in the basket. Like I said - my family is far from boring!

Sunday:

Who doesn't love starting  off the morning with donuts!? On Sunday morning Kelsey and I ventured out to Ridge Donut Cafe to get a half dozen donuts as well as one for each of us to eat there to do a little taste testing for Alecia's bridal shower. Hey, if she wants donuts I need to make sure that they're top notch. Kelsey and I each got a red velvet donut which was very good. In my half dozen, I also picked coconut, PB&J, glaze, red velvet, cream, and apple crunch. PSA - I took a bite of the PB&J one.....DELICIOUS!

After our donut run we went out with Benson to get ingredients for his super bowl dish which was Shakshuka. We originally had this recipe in one of our Blue Apron boxes and it was a hit. One of the things I love about Benson is that he is a very good cook! He likes working with out of the box ingredients and stepping out of his comfort zone when it comes to cooking. It came out great!

Before the Super Bowl, my grandma, Kelsey and I went to the movies to see "Hidden Figures". If you're deciding which movie to see next, go see that one! We all loved it!

Of course the weekend ended with my family at Aunt Susie & Uncle Tom's to watch the Super Bowl....and eat...a lot! There was sushi, guac, soup, sandwiches, wings, cheese, wine, ice cream and cookies. Why oh why I decided to schedule my annual physical the morning after is beyond me.

P.S - If you're local and watched the Super Bowl, Benson worked on those U of R commercials that aired! #proudwife.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bachelorette and Showers, Oh My!

Happy hump day!  Today's post is going to be a little insight on my take of the planning so far of my best friend's shower and bachelorette.

Alecia and I have been best friends since middle school. She is honestly more like a sister to me than a best friend. We have been in each others lives for so many years and I could not be more honored to be her matron of honor on her wedding day! She and Nick are absolutely perfect for each other so needless to say, she deserves a more than perfect shower and bachelorette!

I have not been in this full-force planning mode since my own wedding. There are so many fun things to be happening in 2017 that I thought I would share in a blog post of the things I'm most excited about for Alecia's shower and bachelorette party. Don't worry Alecia, I won't be confessing all my detailed plans since I do want this to be a surprise for you, but I figured I would share some of my thoughts and maybe get some more inspiration from others since I want things to be absolutely perfect!

I'll start with shower planning....

We rented a space which is sort of like a community center to have the shower at. I highly recommend looking at booking a shower at one of these types of locations because you can't beat the prices, and you usually get the building for a whole day. Plus where we are having the shower, there is a HUGE kitchen so we can store food, ice, and drinks.

Donuts. Do I really need to even explain more than that? For the shower (and yes, she already knows this) we are doing donuts as the dessert. There are so many Pinterest pictures that give me inspiration on how to go about with this and I'm super excited to see how things turn out. I've already contacted some bakeries to get quotes and I have a feeling this donut display is going to be a hit!

Catering. Wegmans does GREAT catering. For my own bridal shower, we had salads, wraps, and snacks all catered by Wegmans. Even at my job for events that we want to book out of house we always go with Wegmans. There are so many different options to choose from that they literally have anything you could want. Plus they have a quick turn around so booking is never an issue.

BACHELORETTE.

This is going to be fun ;)

Many of the girls are out of town. Ok, well really all of them except for me. Even Alecia is out of town! So we decided to make it a bachelorette weekend.

For this bachelorette weekend, we're renting a house that will fit all of us for a fun filled and memorable "last fling before the ring". There will probably be around 10-12 of us so we needed a space to hold all of us that had enough beds, bathrooms (duh), and general space so we can all hang out together.

If you haven't been on a pedal tour yet, I HIGHLY suggest changing that ASAP. I went on one in Buffalo for my friend Camille's birthday and it was a blast. Although I have to admit, I'm not sure if I'm biased because I ended up in the lucky seat in the back that had no pedals so I didn't have to even lift a finger to get our cart moving ;) But needless to say, we are booking one for the Saturday of the bachelorette weekend. Fun fact: I'm not a beer person....which you can probably already tell from the title of my blog but I always find something to drink on these tours. Whether it be cider, mixed drinks, or a fruit flavored beer, it's always good and always a fun time.

Of course there are other surprises up my sleeve, but that's the beginning of what is planned. I still have a few months to get the details ready such as favors, games, and things like that. If you have experience planning a shower or bachelorette, I'd love to hear your ideas! I'm so excited to plan these events and I cannot wait to have the best weekend ever because let's be honest....#ITSGOINGBROWNFORREAL.
